Camilla Belle (in Valentino) joins tennis champ BFF Maria Sharapova at the Valentino Haute Couture fall/winter 2008-09 collection shown in Paris, France on Wednesday.

Sharapova, 21, who was seeded third in the Wimbledon tennistournament, endured a straight-sets second-round beating from a player ranked 154th in the world, losing 6-2, 6-4 loss to Alla Kudryavtsev. After the match, Maria said: “I have had to deal with a lot of ups and downs in my life, on and off the court. But the number one thing is not to be disappointed by that, or by losses, or by negative things, things here and there. You have to find a way to keep your head even though it’s pretty tough.”

Ashlee Simpson doesn’t find her burgeoning baby bump quite as adorable as the rest of us do. The songstress has reportedly referred to herself as “Spongebob Squarepants” since becoming pregnant with her first child with hubby Pete Wentz; now the twenty-three year old mother-to-be is working out six days a week with Hollywood trainer Mike Alexander.

Mike, who previously trained Ash’s big sis Jess, is helping the “Little Miss Obsessive” star keep her weight gain in check with a light exercise regimen involving Pilates and a stationary bike.

Ashlee has gained twenty pounds since the start of her pregnancy.

She’s still clinging to the hope that she can limit her total weight gain to no more than thirty to thirty-five pounds,” a friend tells Star.

At least one person is loving Ashlee’s new curves-husband Pete couldn’t be happier with his wife’s figure:

“Pete constantly reassures her that she looks fabulous. He especially loves her growing bust.”

Kimberly Stewart VS Jennifer Aniston

  • Jul. 4th, 2008 at 3:06 AM

When you're as unlucky in love as Jennifer Aniston, the last thing you want is some flirty young blonde chasing after your bloke.

So it's no wonder the Friends star sent Kimberly Stewart packing when she tried to sneak backstage at John Mayer's recent gig. But it took dim Kim some time to get the message - she got kicked out TWICE.

John clearly has a bit of history with the model as all hell broke loose when clingy Jen spotted 28-year-old Kim backstage while John was warming up for Sunday's Hard Rock Calling gig in London's Hyde Park.

Ever the gent, John tried to defuse the situation by getting his security to boot out Kim.
And as the bouncers chased after Kim, Jen, 39, eyeballed her rival to warn her off John.
Our spy says: "Jennifer spotted Kimberly and asked John what she was doing there. John and Kim know each other from clubbing in LA, but Jennifer doesn't want anyone around who reminds her that he used to be a player. She has fallen head over heels for John, but she's scared it will all go wrong again."

"Another woman stole her man before when Angelina Jolie started dating Brad Pitt - she couldn't bear it to happen again."

But Kim wasn't giving up without a fight ... Ten minutes after being told to leave, she was on the side of the stage, waving at John and cheekily catching Jennifer's eye while she was taking photos of her fella.

We hear: "She had been told twice by security that she would be removed but she stood there bold as brass. Jennifer was on the opposite side of the stage and John felt like piggy-in-the-middle. He saw the tension and told his bouncers to get rid of her at all costs."

"Kim was pulled off the stage and escorted through the Hard Rock VIP tent with a face like thunder, shouting: 'Why doesn't he want me here? Is this because of her?' "She totally embarrassed herself, but Jen looked relieved."

Somehow we can't see these ladies being best friends anytime soon.

This reminds me of when Kimberly called Jennifer "homely" and an Aniston fan walked up to her and spit in her face

Britney Spears‘ Broadway dreams are toast. The pop tart’s father forced her to down the role of Sandy in the New York City production of Grease, a tabloid mole spills to Life & Style Magazine.

Jamie Spears, who is currently serving as the appointed guardian over his daughter’s estate, felt a gig on Broadway would be too much for a still emotionally-shaken Brit.

“He still fears she’s going through a lot and isn’t ready to handle anything on her own.”

“Britney was in serious talks to be the new Sandy in the show Grease,” one Great White Way insider says. “She wanted to do it, but her dad, Jamie, said no. Jamie promised the producers that when she’s ready, they would be back to work out a deal.”

Nicole Richie Regrets Her DUI

  • Jul. 4th, 2008 at 2:31 AM

Nicole Richie says she regrets her DUI conviction -- and will never forgive herself for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The socialite -- who spent just 80 minutes in jail last year after she was caught driving the wrong way down a Los Angeles freeway -- can't escape the thought she could have killed someone.

She explains, "We were watching the news once and they happened to be talking about drunk drivers. They started flashing up pictures of little children that had been killed by people driving under the influence.

"At that moment I literally felt like the worst person in the world for even trying to get out of that situation. That was our first real parent moment."

The former 'Simple Life' star -- who has a five-month-old daughter Harlow with fiance Joel Madden -- has vowed never to get in trouble with the law again as she wants to set a good example for her child.

She added, "There's absolutely no way I will do anything like that again. I never took life seriously before. I'm in a completely different place now. I owe my baby my life. I have a responsibility now. I have to really be someone I want my child to look up to. I think it's important for every child to look up to their parent. I want to show her the right path."

paris hilton planning tv special

  • Jul. 4th, 2008 at 2:22 AM

Following the success of E!’s Living Lohan, Denise Richards: Its Complicated, and other reality celebrity hits, Paris Hilton is now pitching a new 2-hour TV special where the socialite and a group of other tabloid favorites share their input on “what it’s really like to be famous.”

Hilton is trying to get drama-prone starlets - like Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Denise Richards, Mary-Kate Olsen, and former-BFF Nicole Richie - together for a live discussion on the struggles of stardom.

Bravo and Lifetime have expressed interest in airing the special, according to a published report.

In search of an Old Navy dress...

  • Jul. 4th, 2008 at 12:46 AM
I am desperately in search of this dress. It was part of Old Navy's collection in Summer 2007 and was available in four colours - purple, turquoise, black, and grey with black patches. After buying the dress in turquoise and realizing it was the most comfortable thing ever, I promptly bought it in all three of the other colours (ridiculously cheap in ON's end-of-summer sale, bonus!), and lived in the dresses through the end of my summer music festival jaunts last summer and the start of said jaunts this spring.

However, because I have worn them to death and because the one unfortunate thing about them is that they do shrink considerably (lengthwise) on first washing (even in cold water, sigh), I am looking for replacements. Does anyone have the dress in an XL or XXL in any of the colours and is willing to sell it at a reasonable price? Or can anyone find any on eBay? All my searches have been grand failures so far.

I have at least three multi-day music festivals still to go this summer and would be very happy to have The Dress to throw in a bag and go!

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz: Pizza Date

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

When a woman is pregnant, there is no telling what kinds of food she’ll crave day-to-day. And it looks like Ashlee Simpson had pizza on the brain yesterday (July 2).

The “Little Miss Obsessive” songstress was spotted with her new husband Pete Wentz on their way to their local California Pizza Kitchen in Los Angeles.

Challenging recipe books?

  • Jul. 3rd, 2008 at 10:19 PM
Dear all,

I am in need of some advice from the experts. My mother-in-law and I have decided to get together and cook once a week. She's kind of drawn to the more basic recipes like "pasta alfredo", "stuffed chicken breast". After we decided today to make a pink peppercorn pavlova with strawberries and basil sauce (she/everyone loved it!), she seems to agree that it's worth taking some time now and then to make very extensive, challenging recipes. So I thought: Why not look for a good recipe book with more challenging recipes?

So here is my question for the experts: Can you recommend recipe books or magazines that are known for having more innovative, unusual, challenging recipes? Or web sites?

Thank you in advance for your help!

kool-aid as hair dye!

  • Jul. 3rd, 2008 at 10:22 PM
okay so i've heard of people doing this saying it doesnt work to well. But i was bored and had a bunch of tropical punch and cherry kool-aid laying around and mixed it in with conditioner making a weird paste. Left it on for two hours and rinsed my hair.  I guide i read online said leave it in 8 hours..but i have no patinece and it itched something awful.

anywas, its a really bright red, just about as good had i went and bought manic panic or some other red dye. only problem i can see with it is that it will probably fade reallly fast, which is also a good thing cause it means i'm able to change it as much as i want.

lsorry no pics...dont have a camera anymore.

ps. I recomend if you are going to do this to start with reallllly light blonde hair...and something to remove it from your skin..mine is stained horribly lol
So get this. I am going to this place, where it's very possible that I won't have internet access.

And...and...(wait for it)...

...

...I think I may leave my computer here. Except that I really want to write, but I don't know what kind of time I'll have, and...

The wilds of the Chesapeake Bay, people. TERRIFYING.

If you don't hear from me by Monday, assume I fell off a dock and was eaten by blue crabs.
